John Aves

In his 25 years business experience, John has focused on the challenges organisations face as they attempt to increase their rate of growth.

After 10 years at Forum, the global consulting and training organisation, John joined smith+co. His recent experience has been with both B2C and B2B organisations including O2, Telefonica, American Express, BP, Bank of New York Mellon, Deloitte & Touche and Serco. The focus of his client work has been on improving the end-to-end customer experience in order to drive higher levels of customer loyalty and advocacy. In addition, his specific expertise in sales force performance has enabled John to work successfully with a number of sales led companies in the UK, EMEA, US and Asia. John’s sector experience spans technology/telecoms, financial services, professional services, business services, hospitality and the airline industry.

John started his career at British Airways where he held a range of senior commercial roles spanning New Product Development, Customer Services, Group Strategy and UK&I Sales & Marketing. In these roles he had hands on responsibility for large teams and for significant revenue targets.

After BA John joined Forum, the global consulting and training organisation, where he became Chief Executive of Forum Europe and a member of the (global) Board.

In his role as CEO of Forum, John had full P&L accountability for the European business and as a member of the Board was instrumental in setting strategy for Forum on a worldwide basis. John was also responsible for the integration of the UK businesses of Forum and Pearson following Forum’s acquisition by Pearson.
